History of computing and computer science.

  • The Vacuum tubes.

    The Vacuum tubes.

The first computers ued vacuum tubes for circuitry and magnetic drums for memory, and were often enormous taking up entire rooms -First generationcomputers relied on machie languaje, the lowest-level programing languaje understood by computers, to perform operations, and they could only solve one problem at the time, and it could take days or weeks to set-u´a new proble,
  • Second Generation (1956-1963)

    Second Generation (1956-1963)

The Trasistors replace vacuum tubes and ushered in the second geneations of computers.
-Tough the transitors still generatd a great deal of heat that subjected the computer to damage, it was a vas improvement over the vacuum tube.
  • Third Generation (1964-1971) Integrated Circuits.

    Third Generation (1964-1971) Integrated Circuits.

The development of integrated circuit was the hallmark f the third generation of computers.
-Computers for the first time became acessible to a mass audience because ther were smaller and cheaper than their predecessors.
  • Fourth Generations (1971-Present) Microprocessors.

    Fourth Generations (1971-Present) Microprocessors.

The microprocessors brought the fourth generation of computers, as thousand of integrated circuits were built onto a singlesilicon chip.
  • Fifth Generation (Present and beyond) Artificial Intelligence.

Fifth Generation (Present and beyond) Artificial Intelligence.

Its based on artifiical intelligence, are still in development, thought there are some applicatoins, such as voice recognition, that being used today.
-The oal of fifth generation computing is to develop devices that respond to natural language input and are capable of learning and self-organization
