    In an overthrow of the government of Batista, his government collapses. Batista flees to the Dominican Republic. Castro becomes commander-in-chief and in July has complete control of the government.

It was Constructed by the German Democratic Republic or East Germany and cut off West Berlin from surrounding East Germany and from East Berlin until government officials opened it in November 1989.
