    First Farm Bill passed
    On My 10, 1933, the First Farm Bill was passed, titled the Agricultural Adjustment Act. It was signed in as a part of previous president Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal. Its purpose was to provide economic relief to farmers during the Great Depression. It encouraged the raise of prices so that the farmers can have a stable income. An administration was formed to distribute the subsidies to farmers.
  • Food and Agriculture Act of 1977

    Food and Agriculture Act of 1977
    This bill was signed by previous president, Jimmy Carter. Its purpose was to increase the income of farmers and to establish a farmer's reserve for grain. Another big part of this act was establishing a peanut program. Under this program, producers were given a quota set.

    This was a four-year bill that mostly modified other programs that were previously set. Its main purpose was to ser specific prices and made other changes to affect USDA activities. Lastly, it also froze dairy prices.

    The main purpose of this was to establish an administration to create programs, relating rural and small communities. It also made changes to multiple nutrition programs throughout the nation. It was later edited to fix some issues related to bank loans.

    2014 Farm Bill
    The main purpose of this act was to increase agriculture and nutrition programs throughout the United States. This bill authorized almost a trillion dollars to be used for agriculture for over the next ten years. This bill was formally signed by President Obama in early February.
  • 2018 farm bill

    2018 farm bill
    This bill reauthorized $867 billion to be used for agriculture. This bill was formally signed by President Trump on December 20.
