First Permanent English settlement is founded in Jamestown, Virginia

In 1607 the first "English group founded Jamestown. The state was named Virginia because the queen was a whole Virgin

The Mayflower found a colony named Plymouth. They were in Massachusetts at the time and they had conflict for a while

English settlers defeat Native Americans in King Philips War

The Europeans demolish the Native Americans in a war for land. Sending the Native Americans away and saving some for slave work

France claims the Mississippi River Valley and names it Louisiana

The French got the river and a state now named Lousiana. They eventually traded the land for money
