    The Piano was invented in the early 1700's by Bartolomeo Cristofori in Italy. The Piano is played by strings that are struck by hammers. The word Piano is short for the word pianoforte, which was the Italian term.

When General Braddock was marching through the woods near Fort Duquesne, he and his troop got ambushed by French and Indians. Many of his troops died, including him.

It made the production of cotton 50 times faster. He made the cotton gin in an attempt for people to stop buying slaves. Instead it did the opposite and people bought more slaves.

    The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is a white supremacist group that deprived freed men of their civil rights, and lynched them if they tried to fight the system. The KKK was all throughout the south and they even spread to the north.
  • 14th Amendment to the Constitution passes

    14th Amendment to the Constitution passes
    The 14 amendment states that all people born in the United States is a U.S. citizen. It also says that you can not deprive people of their civil rights.

    In 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made the first successful flight, near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Orville piloted the gasoline powered biplane for 12 seconds, covering 120 feet.

    NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which is an alliance between the U.S. and other European countries. The Treaty was made after WW2, to strengthen International ties and to serve as a counter balance to the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact.
