Day 2 of Filming

  • 10:40

When we did find a suitable location we found that the first scene was easily the easiest to film due to minimal interruption by surroundings. Therefore we completed the first scene in 10 minutes which meant that we caught up on time.
  • 10:30

    10:30
We arrived at South Weald Park at 10:30am, however we did not prepare an area for shooting which meant that we were looking for a suitable location to film for over 15 minutes.
  • 10:55

At this stage of the filming process at South Weald Park, the time was 10:55 which allowed us to prepare for our next scene. Although the temperature was just above freezing, everyone worked well in order to complete day 2 of filming.
  • 11:20

As we attempted to film scene 7 and 8 from the storyboard, we encountered a few minor problems when trying to control what entered our filming zone such as dogs and pedestrians, luckily this was not a major issue as it was roughly around 11:20am which meant that there were a lack of people about.
  • 12:00

For each scene, we were able to collect enough footage which is significant when editing as it provides extra flexibility to add in or create trailers for our thriller. We did this by filming the scene 3 times which allows us to see where the imperfections may affect the video.
  • 12:30

At 12:30pm we carried on filming after our 30 minute break, this allowed us to have a chance to share ideas on how to improve and take advantage of Beckie's character by filming a series of close up shots of her face, therefore this will help us achieve by making the footage dramatic and gripping. This meant that having a 30 minute break did help us improve the quality of our work as we are hoping to create a thriller that offers a unique viewing experience.
  • 13:00

For our final scene at 13:00 we took over 20 minutes of filming, this was when Beckie didn't use the prop on purpose in order to twist the plot, therefore we wanted to the audience to question 'what's happened to that doll?' Which is also part of the thriller genre, that makes the plot unpredictable which increases the viewer’s interest in the film. Working as a team we were able to use our time and resources effectively without too much hassle.
