Kennedy calls the former presidents Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower and they form Executive Committee of the National Security Council to meet daily during this crisis.

Proclamation 3504

Kennedy signs Proclamation 3504 to approve the quarenty of Cuba. The Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs tries to end the crisis.

U.N secretary tries to end this for a "cooling period" but Kennedy denies.

freighter is stopped at the quarantine line and searched for contraband military supplieS. The ship is safe and provides to Cuba.

Tougher terms.

Moscow sends a second letter with very strict terms. Kennedy is awarded with Distinguished Service Medal.

Soviet pulls the missiles. The crisis is over.
