Plans
Under the administration of Eisenhower , the CIA had developed a plan to support an invasion of Cuba .
It was carried out by a group of Cuban refugees.
In the Begining of March 1960, the CIA trained many people who opposed Castro for the assault. -

President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s second term ended but the cold war continued. The rivalry between the two superpowers did not cool because the space race and arms race continued. -

Bay of Pigs
The CIA-had a force of 1,400 Cuban refugees that landed at the swampy Bay of Pigs (which is Cuba’s southern coast.)
A Cuban force of 20,000 took over the invaders(the refugees) ,
They captured about 1,100 men and imprisoned them.
The Cuban goverment released these prisoners by the U.S paying an amount of $53 million for food and medicine -
Causes of the Cuban Missle Crisis
President JFK trying to overthrow the cuban goverment because its close relations with Soviet Union. The failure of the Bya of Pigs put the U.S in embarrasment . While Fidel Castro strengthened his power. -
Effects of they Bay of Pigs
After the bay of pigs it lead to the Cuban Missle Crisis. Also there was a isolation policy that the U.S. put towards Cuba wich was the embargo.
They also did not allow U.S citizens to go to cuba. They were not allowed. The U.S had to pay cuba $53 million for the refugees -

The Cuban Missle Crisis
Leaders of the U.S and the soviet union had a tense 13 day politcal and military standoff.
The Soviet union established nuclear armed missles in cuba. President JFK notified americans about this and made the decision to do naval blockade.
Many people thought that it was the beginnig of a nuclear war but none of this happened due to an agreement.
President JFK had an agreement with the President of the Soviet Union. -
