    After the six day war determined to win their territory back Egypt and Syria launched the Yom Kippur War a suprise attack against Israel. The war takes its name from the Jewish holy day when the attack began.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    To help Facilitate this historic peace, U.S president Jimmy Carter invited sadat and Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin to Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland. Sadit and Begin reached an agreement known as the Camp David Accords.

  • Intifida

    Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation boiled over into a rebellion called intifada. During the intifada , Palestinian youths battled Israeli troops in widespread street violence. Israel responded with strong military and police resistance, but the fighting continued until the early 1990s.
