TiVo was invented by Jim Barton and Mike Ramsay, releasing the technology March of 1999. Before streaming devices, there was TiVo- a device that would record and save TV shows so you wouldn't miss anything. Prior to streaming devices, television delivered on schedules that did not allow to rewind, pause, skip, etc.
