  • Z3 Computer

The Z3 was used for aerodynamic calculations and was created by Konrad Zuse. The original computer was destroyed in a Berlin bombing in 1943.
  • The Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC)

This computer was the first automatic electronic digital computer, designed and completed by Professor John Vincent Atanasoff and Clifford Berry.
  • Bell Labs Relay Interpolator

Commissioned by the US Army, Bell Laboratories designed a machine to assist in directing the M-9 gun. This machine was a relay-based calculator model.
  • Harvard Mark 1

Howard Aiken designed the Mark 1 and it was built by IBM. The Harvard Mark 1 is a room-sized, relay-based calculator.
  • Plankalkül

Konrad Zuse begins work on Plankalkül (Plan Calculus), the first algorithmic programming language.
