1948 the actual design was finalized. The total cost was $400,000.00 but eventually the economics of the company went bankrupt. -
High-level programming language
It was invented in 1954, but wasn’t commercially introduced until 1957. The first successful high level programming was called Fortran or speedcoding. It is a series of codes for the computer to understand and read. -
PC
It was released in 1965. It was the first commercial “desktop computer”. By 2001 125 million computers were shipped, which is compared to the 48 thousand by 1977. -
UNIX
UNIX operating system escaped in the early 1970’s from AT&T. These systems led to many different versions. Computer aided design, manufacturing control systems, laboratory simulations, even the internet itself, all begun life because of the UNIX system. -
CRAY-1
The first one was installed in 1971 for 8.8 million dollars. It boosted the world-record speed of 160 million floating point per second. It was an 8 gigabyte memory. -
Altair
Was designed in 1975 by a microcomputer based on the intel. Interest grew quickly, it was on the cover of a magazine for most popular technology that same year. -
Apple
April 1, 1976 the apple computer was created. It was one of the most popular companies. It is known for the Ipod, Mac computers, Ipads and many more. Apple has 394 retail stores in 14 countries now. -
First electronic spreadsheet
First electronic spreadsheet was VisiCalc. It was released to the public in1979 running on an apple II computer. VisiCalc saved people a lot of time and helped businesses and companies prosper. -
Macintosh
January 1984 Steve Jobs introduces it. It was the first commercially successful computer. It is ran by activating pictures on the screen and a mouse. -
Windows
It was announced in 1983 but took a while to develop, by 1985 windows 1.0 was developed and became very popular. It was so popular because it was as simple as moving a mouse and clicking.
