Description: Tansistors are made of semiconductors. They replaced the bulkey tubes once used for digital circuts. Reason: This is important because it made the computers work faster and they used less power. Also this opened up new ways of doing things and advanced technology. -
UNIVAC Computer
Description The UNIVAC Computer is the first commercial computer ever created in the United States. It was created to deal with the increasing US population. After they were built General Electric used it for payroll and business use. Reason: It was the start of businesses using computers in their companies. Also it helped record data. -

Description: Fortran was the first computer language created. It is still used today. It was created because they wanted a computer language closer to the human language. Reason: I chose this because even though it was created 50 years ago, I thought it was intreating that it is still used today. -

Description: Paul Allen and Bill Gates created the first PC. They design a new operating system for it. It is a used to develop DOS. Reason: I chose this because PC's are also very much used in the world today. -

Description: One of the first word processing programs are created. The company WordPerfet created it. Reason: I chose this event because today word processers like Pages, Word, and much more are very importent parts of our life. And this was one of the first ones, it was a big step. -

Description: It was constructed by Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau. This was the beginning to the internet. They had an idea of a 'hypertext' system. Reason: To me this was really the beginning to technology. Because we use the internet almost 24-7 today.
