James Russell created Optical Digital Recording in the 70's but was struggling to get others on board with the CD. Sony & Phillips helped create the CD-ROM and released it in 1984. The creation of the CD changed so much about how we transfer date, from computer to computer and eventually allowing us to listen to music or watch movies from a disc. -

HyperCard was a tool designed to help you build software without extensive programming knowledge. It was only available until 1992 but it influenced the creation of HTTP and JavaScript which are both still used today. -
