    First freel programmable computer
    Konrad Zuse invented this first computer that was actually a mechanical calculator. I thought this was important because it was the very first technological step to where we are today.

    The Census Bureau acccepted delivery of the first UNIVAC or Universal Automatic Computer, created initially by Dr. Presper Eckert and Dr. John Mauchly. I feel that this is important because the first commercial computer was a big deal and started sometihng big.
  • First Successful High Level Programing Language

    First Successful High Level Programing Language
    Fortran, or formula translation, was created by John Backus in 1954, and released in 1957. I think this is important because this language is still the top of computer language. It's been in operation for forty years and this is when it started.
  • First Computer Game Invented

    First Computer Game Invented
    Stever Russel created the computer game, "Spacewar." It took 200 man-hours to write the first version of this game. I think this is important because just ten years prior to this the first commercial computer was completed. It shows how fast technology advances and how long we've had computer games.
  • ARPAnet- The Original Internet

    ARPAnet- The Original Internet
    Four computers, located at UCLA, Stanford, UC Santa Barbara, and the University of Utah were the first connected on ARPAnet. It was originally created to protect information flow between military installations. I think it's important that this is on here because this is the start of everything that we know today. The first internet started so long ago, but really not and I think it's interesting

    A team of IBM engineers led by Alan Shuggart created the floppy disk. I think this is important because, again, it was the start of something important and the floppy disk was a building block for so many things.

    Seymour Rubenstein and Rob Barnaby created Wordstar, the first commercially successful word processing software, released in 1979. I think this is important because word processors are such a big part of our life now, it's interesting to see when it started

    New Computer Operating System
    Bill Gates originally wrote this program for IBM, then convinced IBM to release the rights of it to Microsoft. The MS-DOS operating system was said to be the "Operating system of the century, and I thnk that that's important.
  • Google born

    Google born
    Larry Page and Sergey Brim originally created a search engine called "Backrub." They then registered the domain "Google" and started work there. Google was released on the 27th of September in 1998. Google is very important in our society today
  • iPad Released

    iPad Released
    The iPad, a tablet created by Apple, was one of the biggest things to hit stores in 2012. Pre-orders for the iPad began on 12 March 2010. The iPad is one of the biggest technological advances to date.
