    Bay of Pigs
    Two air strikes against Cuban air bases, launching a surprise attack. On April 15th, eight bombers left Nicaragua to bomb Cuban airfields, however the bombers missed many of their targets. On April 17th, the Cuban-exile invasion force landed at the beaches along the Bay of Pigs and immediately came under heavy fire.

    Berlin Wall
    The Commnt govenment of the German Democratic Republic began to build a barbed wire and concrete between East and West Berlin. It was to keep Western "fascist' from entering Eat Germany and indermining the socialist state.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    President John F Kenndedy was informed by spyss that the Soviets had nuclear missiles in Cuba. Over 13 days, he and Nikita Khrushchev confronted each other "eyeball to eyeball", each with the power of mutual destruction. United States pledged publically not to invade Cuba if the Soviet Union withdrew its missiles; a private ultimatum threatening to attack Cuba within 24 hours if the offer was rejected. The crisis was resolved when Khrushchev accepted US offer at the last minute.

    After more than eight years of difficult negotiations, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union signed the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.
  • John F. Kennedy assassined

    John F. Kennedy assassined
    Preseident John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, he was preparing for the nest presidential campaign. Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots fatally wounding President Kennedy, he was pronouced dead 30 minutes later.
