    In 1911 the dynasty collapses and Sun Yat-Sen returns to China and came into power.
  • Communist party

    Communist party
    Mao Tse-Tung was the leader of the communist and in 1921 he founded the communist party.
  • Alliance

    Sun Yat-Sen forms and alliance with the Chinese communists and the Russians. This is giving the communists more power instead of the nationalists.
  • New Leader in China.

    Sun Yat-Sen dies in 1925 and the nationalist Chaing Kai-Shek became the leader. This causes problems because the communist party is starting to grow.
  • Chaing Kai-Shek (Nationalist)

    Chaing Kai-Shek (Nationalist)
    Chaing Kai-Shek is a nationalist and leader of the KMT. He kicks out the soviets so the communist party wouldn't get more power.
  • Leader falls

    Chaing Kai-Shek is becoming more and more unpopular in China because the idea of communism spreads. This is where he is kidnapped and the communists take over.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Japan attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. This makes America made and they are going to retaliate.
  • America retaliates

    America retaliates
    USA drops and atomic bomb on Japan to retaliate for Pearl Harbor. This settles the fight between America and Japan.
  • Taiwan

    Taiwan
    In 1949 Chaing Kai-Shek gets very afraid and flees across the seas to China.
  • Land Reform

    Mao's new government followed and made a Land Reform Law. This is an attempt to make everything equal with the communists and they take the houses away from the richest people. Some people who gave up their houses were still executed for being a capitalist.
  • Communists

    The communist party drove al of the western buisnessmen out of the country. This started the "five year plan" which would make better industries.
  • Great Leap Foward

    Great Leap Foward
    Mao Tse Tung launched the great leap foward. This made everyone work so they would get greater industrialisation. China wanted to be a stronger country and by make more things of their own. The great leap foward failed and industrialisation is actually slower.
  • Red Guards

    Red Guards
    Millions of teenages were made "red guards" and they marched China with the little red book and worshiped Mao. They took all the power from the old people and gave all of the jobs to the younger generation.
  • Liu Shaoqi

    Liu Shaoqi
    Liu Shaqoi who was a capitalist was arrested by Mao Tse Tung and beaten in a prison. Then the lack of doctors/medical care was what made him die.
