  • Z1- The first programmable computer~

    The Z1 was the very first programmable computer, created by a german man with the name of Konrad Zuse. The Z1 was made in his parents living room, and took 2 years to make. (1936-1938) It is said that it was the first functional computer.
  • The ABC computer~

    This machine was made in 1940 by a man named John Atanasoff. It was around the size of a large desk, and had a series of buttons, meters, lights and controls on top of this computers metal frame. At first it was just an design of Johns, until he was paid $650 to build a prototype of his work.
  • The Harvard Mark I Computer~

    The harvard mark i computer was made on the 7th of august 1944. It was created by Howard aiken and Grace Hopper, at LBM and then was shipped to harvard. It was made from switches, relays, rotating shafts and clutches. Its weight was about 10,000 pounds, and was 51 feet in length, eight feet in height, and two feet deep.
  • The ENIAC computer~

    In 1946, John Mauchly and John Presper Eckert developed the ENIAC computer. The pair met in 1943, Eckert being a graduate student studying at moore school at the time. John Mauchly was the chief consultant John Presper Eckert was the chief engineer. It took about an year and 18 months and 500,000 tax dollars to build.
