    Benito Mussolini was born on July 29th, 1883 in Dova di Predappio,Itatly. HIs fathers name was Alessandro he was a blacksmith while his mother Rosa was a school teacher. Benito also had a younger brother and a younger sister. His family was poor like many familys in Itatly at the time. (Baker and Shaw Grunoa 1367-1369)

    In 1900 Mussolini joined the socialist party. During his time in the socialist party he moved to Switzerland to avoid military duty in 1902. He would spend his evenings attending socialists meetings and would also work for a few socialist newspapers throughout this time writing articles and editing them. In 1912 he bacame an Editor for an Italian Socialist newspaper called Avnati. He got kicked from the socialist party for supporting entry into war in 1914.(Smith)

    After being a socialist mussolini became an anti socialist which means he was against everything socialist people beleived in. Mussolini decided to assemble a bunch of smaller groups that had the same mind set as him and form one big group. This group helped him greatly during his rise to power most famously in The March of Rome.(Smith)

    King Tut"s tomb was found by Howard Carter. One of his workers stumbled upon it while they were working near Rameses VI. Tut was found in the tomb and the tomb itself had not been touched in 3,000 years. (Rosenberg)

    Mussolini planned an attack of Rome.His group of facists went into Rome the capital to try to take it over. This attack left the King Victor Emmanuel III in confusion. Mussolini afterwards recieved an offer from the king to form a coalition government. He then proceeded with 300,000 men to see the king. 3 days later on oct 31 Mussolini was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Italy.(Smith)

    In 1925 with support from his facists party after controlling enough seats in Pariament Mussolini declared himself the dictator of Italy. He took the title Duce IL which means leader. After 10 years Italy prosepered and was peaceful.In 1935 Mussolini wanted an empire, so in 1935 he invaded Ethiopia and then in 1936 they finally captured Ethipoia. This was the height of his Popularity. It all went down hill from here for the powerful dictator.(Smith)

    Throughout the year Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig were battling back and forth for lead in the race to lead the league in Homeruns. In september Gehrig slowed down and Babe kept the pace up and broke the record. Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs this was though impossible and was very hard to reach.     Pluto was discovered by Fredrick Banting in 1930. He found while working at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff,Arizona. For 7th decades Pluto was considered the ninth planet in our solar system until it was proven to not be a planet. (Rosenberg)

    throughout the year of 1939 you could tell ever since Mussolini had allied with Hitler Italy was starting to look more like Nazi Germany. For example Mussolini passed the Manifesto of Race which stripped jews of citzenship, teaching jobs, goverment jobs, and banded inter marriage.     During world war 2 Mussolini didnt feel equal to Hitler so to make it seem like Italy was as strong as Nazi Germany which it wasnt. So in September Mussolini decieded to go against his military commanders suggestions and attack the British in Egypt but after a few weeks they ended up stalling and Hitler had to send in german troops to bail out Mussolini. The same scenario happended when Mussolini decieded to attack Greece. This made Mussolini look bad and Hitler good.(Smith)

    When Hitler was busy in the summer of 1943 he wasnt there to save Mussolini who got turned on by members of the Italian Facists who put Mussolini in Prison. Then in september Hitler sent a group to rescue Mussolini and take him to Northen Italy which was controlled by Germany at the time. Literally a few days after being rescued from prison Mussolini was put in charge of The Italian Social Republic by Hitler. Mussolini maintained this position till death.(Smith)

    Mussolini died in 1945 after being captured by Italian patriots while he was trying to escape and was executed by a firing squad near the village of Dongo on lake Como. The body was then taken to Milan where many Italians went to see that he was dead. The body was hung up for everyone to see at a gas station in the middle of the town and they abused his dead corpse.
