    Turkish empire that ruled with a sultan. This man would eventually become a caliph.

    He began the interest in exploration for the Europeans. He also started maritime trade for them.

    A Christian of the 16th century. He nailed letters to the church door as a visual of defiance.

    Dias' Voyage into the Indian Ocean

    Dias was a Portuguese explorer. He was the first European that is know to have sailed around the tip of Africa.

    Columbus' First Voyage

    Columbus left the ports in search of the new world on his very own expedition. He found the Bahamas and eventually landed on the main land of the Americas, adding a new area to the Europeans' enterprise.

    Treaty of Tordesillas

    This treaty evenly traded the newly discovered land between Portugal and Spain. The east went to Portugal and the west went to Spain.

    The Portuguese Slave Trade began in the 16th century and lated until the 19th century. They launched the slave trade and treated the Africans as cargo being shipped to America to do their dirty and strnuous work.

    He was the 13th emperor of the Ming Dynasty. He had the longest reign but also started the decline of the empire.

    This dynasty lasted about three centuries. They began the tributary system ad new laws.

    This was a slave revolt in a French colony in Haiti. They eventually won and broke off as an independent country.
  • End of the British Slave Trade

    The British Parliament decided to put an end to this slave trade. They began negotiating to resolve the idea and enstated an act to keep ot from happening.
