    Isreal declared independence. Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq attacked Isreal. Isreal gained land. Egypt gained the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Hundreds of thousands of Palistiniand and Jews became refugees.

    Arab nations did not want to make peace with Isreal. PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) attacked Idreal throughout their bases in different countries. dreal gained land from Egypt, Jordan and Syria. The PLO moved its base of operations to Lebanon. The battles ended in 1970.

    Egypt blockaded Isreal. Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq moved troops to Isreal's borders and made threatening statenents. Isreal launched a preemptive strike. Isreal captured the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, the Golan Heights from Syria, and the Gaza Strip and all of the Sinai Palistinians and Jews became refugees. Terrorism became more common.

    New Isreal communities were being built in Sinai, Gaza and West Bank. Settlement contructions increased over time. In the future, Isreal and Plestine Authorities must talk about a comprehensive peace agreement.

    Egypt and Syria attacked Isreal on Yom Kippur (the most religious day of the year). Isreal still had the territories captured in 1967, but did not result in any additional land.

    Egypt was the first Arab country ro make a peace treaty with Isreal. Isreal's example of model of "Land for Peaace" policy.Isreal returned to Egypt all of the Sinai that had been captured from the war. Jewish families were removed from the new homes.

    PLO in Lebanon attacked Northern Isreal. In effect, Isreal attacked PLO. Israel tried to prevent terrorist attacks, but they still occurred (leading to the Second Lebanon War in 2006). The 1982 Lebanon War ended in Septmeber 1982

    Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were in a intifada (uprising) against Isreali control. PLO attacked Isreal with firearms and suicide attacks. Isreal and PLO forces both experienced about equal amounts of deaths. It continued until the Oslo Accords were signed in 1993.

    The Oslo Accords were a set of agreements that Isreal and the PLO signed with the Decloration of Principles. This stopped The First Intifada and lead to the creation of Palistinian Athery to keep territory under control.

    The USA helped Jordan and Isreal achieve peace. Jordan was the second Arab country to reconize peace with Israel. In affect, trade, buissness relations, tourism, cultural exchanges, and scientific cooperation between Jordan and Isreal increased, but more slowly than what was expected.

    An attempt from Bill Clinton to bring Ehud Barak and Yaser Arafat to Camp Davis to "make-up". The goal of peace between Israeli Prime Minister and Palestinian President was not achieved and conflict continues.

    Israeli general, Ariel Sharen visited the Jewish temple, Mount. Some believe this act was supposed to cause riot. It resulted in bloodshed, a failed peace process and suffering for both sides.

    Saudi Arabian Prince proposed a peace initiative that included all Arabians. It offered peace for Israel to give back territories. Israrel accepted partly.
