    Attack on  Dayr Yāsīn
    After the UN declared Palestine as a Jewish and Arab state, Jews and Arabs immediately began fighting. The massacre at Dayr Yāsīn was one of the belligerences the Jews did. As a result, Arab forces attacked a Jewish convoy killing 78 people.
  • Israel declares Independence

    Israel declares Independence
    When British forces' withdrew, Israel declared independence. The next day Arab forces occupied nations in Palestine to capture Jerusalem. The intention of the invasion was to restore law and order in regards to British forces withdrawal.
  • Suez Crisis

    In 1956, Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal. Nasser was hostile towards Israel and blocked them off the Suez Canal. Then, France and Britain wanted to strike a deal with Israel. The deal was that Israel would invade Egypt allowing France and Britain to intervene and take control of the Canal.
  • Six-Day War

    Six-Day War
    In the third Arab-Israeli War, Israeli Air Forces shot down six Syrian fighter jets. Egyptian President Nasser responded by mobilizing his forces near the Sinai Border. In response Israel staged an air assault that wiped out Egypt's air forces. With Israel's victory, they won control over Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip, Sinai Peninsula, and Jerusalem.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Yom Kippur War
    On the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur, Egypt and Syria attacked Israel. Egypt attacked from the Suez Canal while Syria attacked from Golan Heights. Arab armies were more aggressive, leaving Israel with casualties, But, Israel got the upper hand by pushing its way into Syrian territory. A few months later Egypt and Israel signed a cease-fire agreement.
