    In English Colonies, slavery was a very large style. Many landowners had slaves. As the years grew on, the Englishmen were getting more afraid of the slaves. The Englishmenm, then, slowly passed laws affecting the slaves. The people were still afraid of slaves so, they passed even harsher laws that tried to control slaves. When slavery just began, all of the slaves were treated fairly, but the progress of slaves were rising, so the people passed laws to slow the advance in slaves.

    A while after Anthony was freed, he bought his own land to make his own crops and wealth. He began to make his own way of life in the English colonies. He had his own cattle, can you belive that a slave owning his own cattle. As Anthony and his land prospered, he had some economic saftety unlike most other freed slaves. This was when the first laws were only just taking place, so Anthony was making very large progress with his family.

Even if the slaves escaped they will be treated inhumanly by getting killed. If the slaves were caught then the people who captured them got a reward. Basically, the slaves were treated as animals and the people who captured them are hunters.

They were passed out of fear and slowly enough, that the slaves were not noticing, so when the the laws grew harsher the slaves were trapped.

Anthony later died, but his sons contied to live in the colonies. Anthony showed that slave , in the beginning, had a bit of power, almost as much as Englishmen. They passed laws, slowly at first, but then they stared to pass harsher and crueler laws to control the slaves. Why did the English try to control slaves?
