  • Punch Card

    Punch Card
    Herman Hollerith invented The Punch Card. Punch Cards were invented for the purpose to control textile looms. They were either punched by hand or by machine, after they would punch them it would represent computer data and instructions. It would instantly put data into a computer.
  • Cotton Gin

    Cotton Gin
    Eli Whitney invented The Cotton Gin in 1793. The Cotton Gin was already created before he had thought of it but he decided to make a better version of it. The Cotton Gin's purpose was to make it easier for slaves to produce cotton. If they would have continued working by hands they would only make 1 pound of cotton a day. The machine helped them a lot by producing 50 pounds of cotton a day.
  • Steam Locomotive

    Steam Locomotive
    Richard Trevithick invented the Steam locomotive in 1802. This was created to make motive steam power. This was the first invention that would allow people to travel on land faster than a horse. This was the first ever steam powered created that could move on railing.
    The Steam Locomotive was great for moving around materials and other types of shipment that would be needed to move in crates/boxes.
  • Steamboat

    The inventor of The Steamboat is Robert Fulton. There were already boats invented but they weren't able to move by themselves there were either paddles that they used or something else. This Steamboat was another transportation but it moved on water instead of railings, it was also another great form of transportation to move around shipment that might have been across states. Instead of riding horses they used steamboats or steam locomotives.
  • The Arc Lamp

    There were three different inventors that created the arc lamp, their names are Humphrey Davy, Pavel Yablochkov, and William Petrie. This was a older version of a street light and lights or factories. They used it because of the brightness of the light that the lamp had, so it wasn't a ordinary lamp. The lamp was so popular film productions used them in their movies because of the great lighting. Later on in the years there were a lot of complaints due to actors saying it was dangerous.

    The Mechanical Reaper was mainly used to produce crops because it was easier than picking them everyday by hand. The Mechanical Reaper even helped people cut grass people probably used sheers to cut it, that would take ages to finish cutting. Most farm owners enjoyed it because they had large amount of crops that needed to be cropped and back then there weren't a lot of help that they could get to help them harvest crops.
  • The Manned Glider

    The Manned Glider
    The inventor of The Manned Glider is George Cayley. George had created them because he knew that steam engines would be to heavy to lift an aircraft aloft. He mostly observed on birds and seen how they soared without moving their wings. He wanted to show pilots how to use rising air.
  • Plywood

    Plywood
    Immanuel Nobel invented plywood to be used for building material. Plywood is most likely used in house as wood for floors and sometimes the inside of roofs. A lot of people liked plywood because of the material and the high strength of it. This wood kept very good structure.
