    Independence Day/ Storming the Bastille
    July 14,1789 the people of Paris stormed the Bastille. The Bastille was a building made of stone that held prisoners. People attacked the prison as a symbol of dominance because the king sent troops to Paris. Both men and women were involved and they destroyed the prison piece by piece. Along with killing guards and prisoners. This was important to the French Revolution because they wanted to show domination over the king and the decisions he had made. July 14th is now their Independence Day.

    National Assembly Comes Up With a Solution
    The National Assembly came up with a document called the Declaration of the Rights of Man. The document was influenced by Thomas Jefferson, but the entire National Assembly published this document. The document stated that all males were equal before the law, all had natural rights of liberty, property, and security. They also stated that the position you were in was based on talent. This effected the French revolution because it was a major solution to all of the problems that were going on.

    Queen and King Are Making Plans
    Most people in France are starving, especially in Paris while the Royal Family is living life in luxury. This causes 6,000 people to revolt and march to Versailles to drag the family to Paris. They are put into prison for three years. They eventually try to escape. Their plan was working until the very last town. They are taken back to Paris and now seen as traitors. This shows that in the Revolution it was all about the upper class compared to the majority of the people who were poor.

    Napoleon Rises
    Napoleon began as a good general and continued his way up. He was elected Emperor and had a new idea for Europe. As he had already gained power over most of Europe, he comes up with new "statements". Order, Security, and Efficiency. This entails more religious tolerance, peasants can own land, jobs are based on talent, controlled prices, and the Napoleonic code. All good things must come to an end though, and he is defeated by Russia. This was major and Kings and Queens were back on the throne.

    The Throne Continues & Napoleon Escapes
    After Napoleon was defeated for the second time by European alliances he went to Elba. Louis XVIII was put on the thrown shortly after. In a peace conference, Napoleon escaped and collects his army back together. They then attack Waterloo and lose for the final time. Once Napoleon is finished gaining power, the Congress of Vienna decides to balance the power. This was important because it was the end of rising and starting of monarchs again and it happened because people were unhappy.
