    After World War 2 and the holocaust, Israel was founded as a sort of homeland for those of Jewish decent after a war for independence from Palestine.
  • Egypt nationalizes the Suez Canal

    Egypt nationalizes the Suez Canal
    The Suez Crisis is the result of Egypt nationalizing the canal of the same name. This prompted an invasion of Egypt from Israel, followed by the U.K. and France. Israel was urged by The U.S. to pull out of Egypt, and the invasion ceased shortly thereafter.
  • The Six Day War

    A war lasting from June 5th to June 10th in 1967, it began as a surprise attack from Israel against Arab armies that had been amassing on it's borders. The war resulted in Israeli victory and the seizing of more land for Israel
  • Yom Kippur War

    The Yom Kippur War was started from a surprise invasion of Israel led by Syria and Egypt. After initial gains, the Arab Coalition was once again defeated. The conflict lasted a mere 20 days.

    The Camp David Accords were a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel. It was signed after 12 days of secret negotiations at Camp David, Maryland.
