It also helped pave the way for the industrial revolution. Watt perfected the steam engine that was used in factories. Which enabled factories to be sited away from rivers, and further accelerated the pace of the Industrial Revolution.

    Matt Perry takes Japan

    Matt Perry was a U.S. commodore and opened Japan’s trade ports. He traveled to Japan and forced the leader of Japan to open trade. This took two trips to Japan to achieve this. On the first trip, he pointed guns a Japan and refused to leave until his letter from the U.S. President was accepted. On the second trip, Perry showed up with double the amount of ships and was presented with a treaty. This was called the Convention of Kanagawa, which was signed by the ruler, Shogun.

It was caused by a group of people called the Sepoys (Indian men trained by the British) that rebelled because they didn't like being controlled because of their race. Britain also put a tax on land and peasants and caused a food shortage. Britain didn't like the Indians rising up because they thought of them as a threat. This was important because it was the beginning of the Indian independence movement, and it made people want to throw off British rule.

This is also known as the Bambatha Rebellion because it was led by Bambatha KaMancinza, the leader of the Zulu people. This was important in history because Zulu people revolted against the British to end their taxation and control. The British defeated them with help of Indians.

    Dr. Sun Yat-Sen was a Chinese doctor and a political leader. He was known as the founder as China because his view on things agreed with China and Taiwan. He had a big influence on the end on the Qing Dynasty. That was China’s last dynasty. He also became the president of the Republic of China. Dr. Sun was also famous because he united China together into one nation. A bad outcome of his rule was after China won the revolution, Sun lost power and warlords took over China.
