  • Steam Engine

    The Steam Engine harnesses the energy of steam to move. Thomas Savery invented the steam engine in 1679. In 1796 James Watt was assigned to perfect the Steam Engine and began doing so. This became a well used piece of machinery for everyone.
  • French Revolution

    The French Revolution began in 1789 with a meeting of the states general. Bastille was stormed, Louise the 16th and the royal family were removed frim versailles to paris. The king was later brought to trial and the revolutionary government declared war on Britain.
  • haitian revolution

    In 1791 the leader Boukman started the Haitian war of Indepence. Over 100,000 slaves revolted agaisnt the French. This revolution was caused entirely by the men and women who had been enslaved for many years in which they wanted freedom and liberty. Francois Dominique Toussaint L'Ouverture was known as a hero during this time and a great general. He also fought and revolted due to his life long expierience as a slave.
  • independence of mexico

    Early in 1810 a priest gathered all the people in Mexico. He gathered these people to go against and revolt the spanish crown. This started the war which then led to the Independence of Mexico.
  • Congress of Vienna

    In 1814, The Congress of Europe met at Vienna to settle the future boundaries of the contintent. During this time they restored monarchs in France, Spain, Portugal and Itatlian states.
  • Communist Manifesto

    The communit manifeso is a declartion of the icommunist organization intentions. This declartaion was written in 1848 and it described and layed out the parts of communism. The communist manifesto also disscuses the parts of Capitalism.
  • Opium War

    The opium war was also called the Anglo- Chinese war. It was fought between Great Britain and the Qing Dynasty over the topic of Opium Trade. It was the most humiliating defeat ever. the Imperial Government made opium illegal in 1836.
  • Sepoy Mutiny

    Sepoys were indians trained by British as soldiers. Growing indian discontent with British rule. In 1857 the British had known themselves as a master race. The Sepoy became very organized and took over many cities such as Delhi and Kanpur.
  • Unification of Germany

    At first Germany was made of 39 seperate states. After the French-Prussian war many German states were unified. This Unified many parts of Germany. Then, Otto Von Bismark wanted to destroy the German constitution. He later created what became the German Empire.
  • Zulu Uprising

    The Zulu Uprising was a revolt against the British rule. It became a war fought in South Africa by the British Empire and the Zulus. After 2 years fighting this war, the Zulu became a very powerful kingdom.
  • Berlin Conference

    The Berlin Conference was Africas undoing. In 1884, Otto Von Bismark called together western powers to discuss questions and end confusion over the control of Africa. This resulted in a number of boundaries that divided africa into fifty iregular countries.
  • Russo- Japanese war

    This was a confilct between Russia and Japan over control of Korea and Monchuria. Japan forced Russia to Abandon it´s expansionists, becoming the first asian power to defeat a European power.
  • Dr. sun yat-sen takes over china

    Dr. Sun Yat-Sen became the next ruler of China. He attempted to reinstate an imperial system with himself as emperor. This made Sun Yat-Sen start one of Chinas first political parties. Dr. Sun Yat-Sen also called for the Great Rail Project which was a high speed National Rail System.
  • Matt Perry goes to Japan

    Matthew Perry went to Japan for a port for coaling and steamships. He also went to Japan to make sure ship wrecked sailors in Japan recieved good healing. Lastly was for trade, the American´s wanted to trade more with other countries to increase revenues.
