    Tiridates the III accepts Christianity as the religion of the Armenian people. This picture is an Armenian exerpt from the book of Gospels.

    Treaty of Turkmanchay
    The treaty of Turkmanchay gives 2 areas to Russia; Nakhichevan and the area around Erevan. This strengthens their control over the Transcaucasus area. This image is of the Mausoleum of Momine-Khatun in Nakhichevan.

    Massacre of Armenians
    Ottoman Turks massacred about 300,000 Armenians. This was the beginning of a series of killings and massacres which led up to the Armenian genocide. To the left is an image of a deceased Armenian citizen.
