    The Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. It is rumored that Leonardo Da Vinci fell in love with her while painting this portrait. Mona Lisa was Francesco del Giocondo's wife. This painting is a great example of Da Vinci's style of softly and heavily shading that was always in his work. He loved this painting and carried it with him until he finally sold it. This painting was coveted and is still coveted today.
