The king of England's cousin, Prince Rupert, knew that there was money to be made in the fur trade. The king gave Prince Rupert and his partners a charter, which gave the company a monopoly. -
Chapter 4- Marquis de Frontenac Became Govener
A French Noble, named Marquis de Frontenac became governer in French. He faced a problem. Many wendat had been killed by smallpox. The Haudenosaunee had killed many more. The whole Wendat Society fell apart and they could no longer bring furs to Montreal.
First Nations- We might not be able to trade with anyone anymore if we keep dying

The Royal Proclamation
The Royal Proclamation layed out the British governments plan for the colony (Quebec). It bought British institutions and laws. It also stopped settlement west of the Appalachians which forced colonists who wanted land to move to Quebec.

It was composed of a group of Scottish entrepreneurs and Canadians and a group of Montreal merchants with extensive experience in the Western fur trade.
First Nations- Now we get to make trades with the French easier because we are working with them to improve on ties.
British- No, the First Nations and the French are going to have a closer relationship then us we won't get as much money.
French- Yes, now that we are working with the First Nations we might get more furs than the British. -
The Tree Of Peace- Chapter 1
Weapons would be buried under a tree to seal a peace agreement between first Nations.
