  • The 1400 series is introduced by IBM

The 1400 series is introduced by IBM
This computer was one of the first statements of why general use computers would be more successful than specialized computers. The demand for the IBM 1401s escalated and that was mainly because the computer was constructed with more reliable transistors.
  • Wesley Clark introduces MIT LINC

    Wesley Clark introduces MIT LINC
An early iteration of our modern-day 'personal computer', LINC was made for the situation that only one person would use it. Engineer Wesley Clark worked for MIT Lincoln Laboratory. The DEC or Digital Equipment Corporation was also an integral part of making the computer what it is as well as commercializing it.
  • Sketchpad is developed by Ivan Sutherland

Sketchpad is developed by Ivan Sutherland
One of the first design programs to be displayed on the market, Sutherland developed this computer system as way for young designers to draw on a computer screen. This invention has gone on to inspire many other programs of the same ability. In turn, making graphic design much easier as well as a possibility.
  • Olivetti Programma 101 invented by Pier Giorgio Perotto

Olivetti Programma 101 invented by Pier Giorgio Perotto
Programma 101 was the basis of the modern day calculator. It is able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and square root. This programmable calculator is able to print and was used during the Apollo space project.
  • AGC or Apollo Guidance Computer created by MIT scientists and engineers

AGC or Apollo Guidance Computer created by MIT scientists and engineers
This device was used on both the Apollo 7's first flight and Apollo 11's journey. The creation of this computer was crucial at the time because the size of this unit was so much more spacious as compared to its predecessor. It made space travel much easier and it was among the first iterations of integrated circuits and core memory.
