During this time period my grandparents were very discriminatory about other races. My mother was very different from them and believed that if you love someone it does not matter what race they are. Although my grandparents disliked my mother’s views and her choice to marry my father, they soon adapted their views that everyone is equal. This event affected the way my parent’s raised me because they wanted to give me the ability to love anyone know matter what race they are as long as they ma

After evaluating Nicolai’s APGAR exam, I would rate him a nine. In his exam his skin color looked completely pink as well as he was showing active motion and crying. Because he was crying, his respiratory effort was very good. In addition, his heart rate seemed to be over 100 and his body temperature was a little above normal.
  • 4.2 First Word

    4.2 First Word
My first word was Ma- Ma. After reading the text I noticed that most of my language that I spoken in my early years was focused around nominals. This type of language falls under the referential style of language development. My first word relates closely to the vocabulary spurt in which after a couple of months I did start added more words to my vocabulary but which were more focused on nominal words.
  • 3.1 Preoperational Magnetism

    3.1 Preoperational Magnetism
In this stage, it would be harder to explain magnetism to a two year old because their thought process is not fully developed. At this age most children think only one dimensionally which may make it harder to explain how magnets operate.
  • 5.1 Kohlberg's & Gender

From Kohlbberg's theory, I would say that parker is about 4 years old. From the video, it seems like Parker does very well in distinguishing gender. Later on in the video Parker seems lack gender stability. When asked more questions determining whether her friends are girl or boy, she answers most as boy. I picked this age because, Parker has knowledge that she is female and that others are either female and is slow developing more gender stability.

My parents played a very big part in my life as being good disciplinary. Although I never really got into a lot of trouble but if I did they would make sure that I learned my lesson. Also, because my parents were strict and enforced rules, I now know my restrictions as an adult.

    8.1 Children and television
One show that I used to watch as a child was “Barney.” As a child at first, I didn’t really comprehend that the show was fictional. I believed that all the actors knew that I was watching and that they incorporated me into their activities during the show. As I started to go through my development, I realized that Barney is not a real person and that someone was actually in a suit playing him. And then I was able to depict what shows were real life and what shows were just fantasy.

In daycare I can remember that when lunchtime was over I would love to do clean up. I loved the responsibility of picking up my plate and washing it. I reminded me of playing house. My care taker at the time would encourage me that I was doing a good job cleaning up which made me feel like I could take on other duties

When I was about five years old my parents would read me stories about enchanted places. After being read these stories, I would play outside with the neighborhood kids. My earliest memory would be have to be playing outside with the neighborhood kids and pretending that I was in one of those enchanted places. From the third theory I would most have to agree with is, “that knowledge about narrative arises from social interactions particularly the storytelling children experiences from parents… p
  • 3.2 Concrete Magnetism

In this stage it will be much easier explaining how magnets works because children are around ages 7-11. At this age, most children are starting to solve operations which allows them to think critically. Also, children have developed reversible thinking which helps me when I am explaining how magents work.
  • 5.2 Encouraging Gender Schemas

    5.2 Encouraging Gender Schemas
In elementary school, I remember some gender schemas. I think the one that I remember the most is having nametags on our desk. Depending if you were a girl or a boy determined what type of nametag you received. For example, a girl would have a nametag with pink hearts and princesses on it and the boys would have trucks or dinosaurs. If my teacher would have gave all the students neutral nametags that fit both genders it would create less gender schemas. The second thing that I remember is in

    6.2 Self Control
I think my example of delayed gratification would be when my mom would make dessert. When I was a child, I would always want to lick the spoons after my mom made a cake mix. Unfortunately, my mom would always tell me know because I would ruin my appetite for dinner. When I look back now I know I was probably glad that I didn’t lick the spoons because I wouldn’t have enjoyed my mother’s amazing cooking as much.
  • 7.1 Parental Strategies

    7.1 Parental Strategies
When I was around the age of seven my mother tried to stop me from sucking my thumb. My mother didn’t believe that taking the authoritarian approach would work with me. One way that she started to wing me off from sucking my thumb was by giving me rewards every time I didn’t suck it. My parent’s strategy for stopping this habit had a strong efficacy on me. I soon became more interested in what rewards that were going to be giving me instead of sucking my thumb.

When I was in elementary school there were separate tracks (A, B, C). Because of overcrowding at my school I was placed on C track. During recess, I was known to be in the C track clique. At recess teams were segregated by track. So all A track kids would be on one team and C track on another. In elementary school mostly hung out with the jocks because I loved sports. I was not just in the jock crowd because I loved sports; I also loved playing against the boys.

    6.1 Basic Emotions
When I was about eight, I recall I experienced self- conscious emotion. At this age, I can remember I was jealous of my friend because she had colorful braces. Although when it came time for me to get braces, I became less jealous of those who also had them but started to gain some envy for those who had a retainer. Yet again, when it came to the point to have a retainer I became less jealous.

One of the most significant events that has created an impact on my life would be the divorce between by parents. In this event I would think that Erik Erikson would have the best interpretation. Erikson would believe that this is one emotional challenge that I had to face. Indeed, this was an emotional challenge but also what made this even more of a challenge is that the trust between my parents lacked because at the time I did not know whom to stand by. Erikson believes that there needs to

Having Chloe as one of my best friends helped me lower my anxiety during the difficult time between my parents as w
  • 8.2 School Transitions

One of the major transitions that I went through was changing schools in between my fourth and fifth grade year. The reason I had to move schools was because I moved to a different school district and had to wait for an intra-district transfer to process. On the first day of school, I felt it hard to meet friends because most of the kids had already established their group of friends through previous grades. Also, I found it hard to perform in class because I was in a new environment and wasn

I would beg my mom to let me do any other chore expect this one. At this time in my life, I was too worried that one of my friends would drive by and make fun of me because I had to do yard work. • 1.3 Methods

In my future work with children, my goals is to create a healthier and more active school environment. What still seems to be an issue is that children are getting poor nutrition from their school cafeterias. In my research to help provide healthier food choices, I would first take an observational study to actually see what is being prepared and provided to the children as well as what the children are choosing to eat. Therefore, by watching the cooks prepare the food I will be able to see if
