Seagate Technologies launched the first hard drive for micro computers. It was small enough to replace floppy disk drives. This allowed for 5 times as much storage space and would evolve to be modern day everyday drives.

These were standalone, predominantly word processing, basic math, basic games. But they were groundbreaking. I don’t think it would be relatable to the new generations the feeling of sitting down at a “computer”. Maybe it’ll be like that with VR in 30 years.

In 1983, Nintendo arrived in Japan and in America in 1985. Around ‘89/‘90, I remember jumping over my next door neighbors wall whenever their kids visited in the summer. I’d sneak in and play original Mario and Castlevania. It blew my mind, and I never wanted to stop.

In 1984 Sony launched the first discmans. I think I got my first in ‘97 and was raiding Best Buy for new CDs up to and through HS. That music changed my life. Especially once they got that anti-skip feature
