    Gene Amdahl started his own company and the 470V/6 was the company's first product. It cost less and was faster and smaller than the IBM system/370 computers.

    Micral is one of the earliest, commercial, non-kit personal computers. Thi Truong developed the computer but Philippe Kahn wrote the software. It replaced minicomputers.

    Xerox PARC Alto

    Alto is a groundbreaking computer that has influenced the computer industry greatly. It worked together with windows, icons, and could print out documents and share files. It has enhanced our lives because Apple's inspiration for the Macintosh came from the Alto.

    Apple II was introduced and sold and became very popular. If it was connected to a color vision tv set, Apple II produced great color graphics for that time. Apple II was given away to schools which gave a new generation their first personal computers.
