    This was the predecessor to the hard disk, as many families could not yet afford one to store their computer operating system. This allowed users to upgrade their operating system, as, before the introductions of RAM, most computers had the more simple Os stored in the Read-Only Memory.

    Although I am unsure of the engineer behind the machine, that no doubt diminishes its nostalgic and historical value among gaming enthusiasts. The new tech popularized the use of game storage on ROM cartridges and enhanced its collectable value along the way. I could not imagine having one game to play per console!

    These new computers were the first of their kind developed with custom coprocessor chips, which allowed for better picture and sound quality. Of course, Atari saw a window in the market and jumped at the chance, releasing the Star Raiders computer gaming cartridge in the same year. This is the beginning of PC gaming as we know it!
