    The Bay of Pigs was full of exiles from Cuba, about 1,200, they were working for the United States. They were to attack Cuba at the bay of pigs, in order to try and cause an uprising in Cuba to overthrow Castro. It failed miserably when they were met by Castro’s army. They had 100 killed and the rest were captured, JFK admitted it was his wrong to attack Cuba.

    13 day political and military standoff between the Soviets and the United States. The U.S. found out about Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba, therefore we put a naval blockade around Cuba, threatening to take over. We were on the brink of a nuclear war. The Soviets agreed to take out the missiles as long as the U.S. did not invade Cuba.
