  • 19th amendment is ratified.

    19th amendment is ratified.
    The 19th amendment provided the right for men and women to be equal. For example, voting was a major change. During this time, women were finally being excepted as equals like men.
  • Sacco-Vanzetti Case

    Sacco-Vanzetti Case
    Two Italian-Americans, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, were accused of robbery and murder. Their trial was July 14th, 1921. Later, after a tried appeal, they were both sentenced to death.
  • "Flapper" style emerges.

    "Flapper" style emerges.
    During this time, women wanted to be seen as equals to men. Women cut their hair to a bob and wore clothing that showed more skin but hid their breast. Their dresses were loose fitting and didn't show off their curves.
  • Teapot Dome Scandal arose

    Teapot Dome Scandal arose
    In April of 1922, Albert Fall, the Secretary of Interior, was giving away the oil used for the Navy to Mammoth Oil in exchange for his own money. The blame was put on President Harding. He hired people as friends and not as people who would do best at the job.

    Yankee Stadium is home to the New York Yankees. The New York Yankee organization created back in 1901. The stadium could hold up to 58,000 people.

    Macy's prospered in the 1920's alongside the U.S. When opening, it was said to be the "World's Largest Store." So Macy's threw a large parade.

    During this time, the KKK was growing rapidly in size. In 1925, they decided to march on Washington. Not only was the KKK against blacks, but also European Catholics and Jewish immigrants.

    Rudolph Valentino was a famous Italian-American actor who starred in many popular and well-known movies. Shortly after his new movie came out, Rudolph suddenly died from Peritonitis. Hid death caused riots, suicides, and hysteria.

    Babe Ruth hits his 60th home run
    Babe Ruth was an American professional baseball player from 1914-1935. He played for the New York Yankees and was a well-known player for breaking and creating records. On September 30th, 1927, Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run.
  • Hoover wins the Presidency election

    Hoover wins the Presidency election
    Herbert Hoover ran for president in 1928 and won. He was a part of the Republican party and ran against Democratic candidate Alfred E. Smith. Hoover won over the popular and electoral votes.
