    (No specific date). John Brown fought to save slaves, and he gave them weapons to defend themselves. Farmers believed that slaves should not get weapons because they need the slaves to help them farm. A lot of white northern slaves did not want to free these slaves because there would then be more competition for jobs.
    Religion- Brown morally believed that all were equal
    wealth- Slaves were free labor, make more money because they do not have to pay slaves
