Ernesto Guevara was born in Rosario, Argentina on June 14, 1928. He was the oldest of five children born to Ernesto Guevara Lynch and Celia de la Serna y Llosa.

Che learns how to play chess from his dad and enters to compete in tournaments.

Guevara visits Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. In Peru, he works at a leper colony treating patients. In a diary, Guevara recorded the happenings of his life while on the colony. The diary later published and became a best-selling book and the 2004 movie "Motorcycle Diaries."

Just two days before his 25th birthday, Guevara received his medical degree from the Universoty of Buenos Aires on June 12, 1953.

Che arrives in Cuba. Che would continue his journey in opposing the the goals and perceived societal detriments of capitalism and introduced the "new man" who would oppose greed and "egotism" in capitalism.

Guevara revolts against Batista on the ship Granma. He soon diacovered that he wold put his medical practice to the side and become a fighter. He was later appointed commander of the second army column by Fidel Castro.

Guevara is appointed to the National Bank of Cuba as President. He was also the Minister of Finance for Cuba.

Che Receives the Cuban nationality and considered to be a Cuban citizen by birth.

Believed to have helped organize starting April 24 1965 a failed coup in Congo.

Fidel Castro announced that Guevara officially resigned from his posts in Cuba and renounced his citizenship. He also told the masses that Guevara was off to establsih other revolutions. Rumors circulated that Castro and Guevara had severed ties because of perceived associations with China on Guevara's part and Castro's supposed support of the USSR.
