  • Voluntary Migration

    Voluntary Migration
    Cause: Voluntary migration is when people choose to leave the country or state by thier own choice. People might want to move becuase of the goverment, a war is about to break out or just want to live somehwere else.
    Effect: Some effects of voluntary migration are places get crowed and there is soo many people, for example countires. For example in New South Wales one time the odds for men and woman were four to one, so then the goverment had to set up the bounty scheme.
  • The Enlightenment

    The Enlightenment
    Cause: The most recent cause of the Enlightenment was the Thirty Years’ War. The government should be run by and or the people. Another cause was people not wanting to continue the church's teachings.
    Effect: The horrible war which lasted from 1618 to 1648, made German writer to talk about the criticisms regarding, which was the ideas of the nationalism and warfare. These ideas changed the way we think about science, medicene logical thinking.
  • The Steam Engine

    The Steam Engine
    Cauae: The propose of making steam engine was to produce the power for machinery and transport. The steam engine was a demand for coal to heat olden homes and buildings. The coal mines started to become deeper and the water that was in the mines had to be pumped out which took a very long time.
    Effect: They saved on labour and increased the production and used a cheaper fuel such a wood. The idea of the steam engine was to be used as a vacuum to suck water out the mine shaft.
  • Captian Cook disovers the East Coast of Australia

    Captian Cook disovers the East Coast of Australia
    Cause: Captain Cook when on an expedition to the South Seas to observe the Transit of Venus and to secretly search for the unknown Great Southern Continent. While he was on this expedition he discoverd a land by accident and it was the East Coast of Australia.
    Effect: When Captain Cook discovered Australia he send a message to England to bring more people over to build on the empty land.
  • Involuntary Migration

    Involuntary Migration
    Cause: The cause of involuntary migration was becuase of too many people being arrested. In England it was too crowded so they send convicts on the First Fleet to another country e.g. Australia.
    Effect: The effects were that England came over to Australia to send the convits for hard labour. England stole the indigenous people's land so they convicts can build land huts for free settlers.
  • The Second Fleet

    The Second Fleet
    Cause: The Second Fleet was caused becuase there were more convicts to bring over to Australia becuase England was too crowded. Most of the convicts were accused of stealing.
    Effect:The Second Fleet was a complete disaster. Over 250 convicts died on the voyage of the Second Fleet. When they arrived in Australia 1788 convicts setteled in Australia.
  • The assisnation

    The assisnation
    Cause: The assassination of Austria's Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie was an excuse to attack Serbia from Austria-Hungary. Austria-Hungary were very angry at Serbia and then they stamped there power towards the Serbians.
    Effect: After the assisnation Austria-Hungary organised an army and then declared war on Serbia. When most European countries found out this information the European alliance system took place. Thus World War 1 had started.
  • WWI

    WWI
    World war started. When world war one was confirmed, men wanted to enlist to say that they served their counties and to impress their families and women. Otherwise woman would send the men a white feather meaning they were a coward and abusing them for not going to war. Russia, Italy, Britain, France and Greece were allies and Germany, Austria-Hungary and Turkey were allies and Australia was Allies wit Britain. At the end of World war one there were on 8.5 million men dead and over 21 million Su
  • Britain declares War on Germany

    Britain declares War on Germany
    Cause: On August 4th 1914, Great Britain declared war on Germany. Prime Minister Herbert Asquith of Britain warned Germany to get out of Belgium by midnight on August 3rd.
    Effect: This decision was the beginning of WWI. On the 3rd of August at 11:00 pm the British were getting tired and then declares war on the Germans. Asquith send a telegram to hand over Belgium and France the British the Germans responded no.
  • Theatre of War, Lone Pine

    Theatre of War, Lone Pine
    Cause:This battle was part of the gallipoli campian with the ANZACS. The ANZACS tried to push inland, creating a seaward line side of the plateau against Turkish counter-attacks. This battle was fought because it was an attempt to force a breakout from ANZAC perimeter on the height of Chanuk BAIR and Hill 971.
    Effect: The Australians took the main trenches in just half an hour. Australian unfortunately lost eighty officers and 2197 men in the whole for days of the battle.
  • First Battle of Bullecourt

    First Battle of Bullecourt
    Cause: The Germans wanted to make a better defence and a withdrawn to the Hindenburg. This move followed up by the British and forces and they launched an attack around Arras in Aprial 1917. An assist the Arras operations, an attack was by the 4th Australian and 62nd British Divisions.
    Effect: The attack launched at Bullecourt on 11 April 1917 was a disaster. The Australians broke into and took part of the Hindenburg Line but no important strategic move. In result the AIF lost 10,000 men.
