  • The Enlightenment

    The Enlightenment
    The cause of the enlightenment was that people stopped beleving in the church and instead starting beleiving in new beleifs. The effect of the enlightenment were overthrown and as a result they had less power.
  • The First Fleet

    The First Fleet
    The first fleet was a time in 1787 were the first boat of convicts left englan on the 13th of may and landed on the shores of the botany bay on the 18th of january 1788. About 80 of the convicts on the boat died. This was caused by lack of sunlight and numourous diseases and infections that were spread due to lack of space. On each boat there was about 1350 convicts so you can imagine how packed it must of been back then.

    Voluntry and Involuntry migration
    All migrants that came from the UK in the first fleet where attracted to australia by things that are called push and pull factors. The push factors that would of been in the UK at that time would have been the lack of money and lack of food for families. The pull factors that were good about coming to Australia were that it was a fresh start for families that offered new land, crops and a new life.   • Free Settelers to Australia

    Free Settelers to Australia
    Free settlers that came from over seas to Australia from there choice were called free settlers. These people moved for different reasons. Mostly because they just wanted a change because there was nothing left for them at there last home. Free setlers got a grant for land and depneding on if they were married or not they would get more land. it also depended on the amount of children they had
  • Convicts

    Convicts were people that had commited a crime back over in the british empire and were made to move to australia and they were used like slaves. On the trip over they were treated terribly and lots of them died from different diseases. They had access to limmited food and they had no toilets or space to move around. Whe they got to australia they helped the Free Setelers and the other people set up and then plant crops and build homes. Some of the free setelers paid the convicts for there work.
  • Indigineous Australians

    The original people of australia were the Aboriginals. When the first fleet came to australia the Indiginous australians reaction was that they were there to do harm. It was okay to think this aswell because the Brittish people came to australia with things that the Aboriginals called boom sticks. These were guns. This would be quite a threat if you have never seen them before. So the aboriginals atitude was not positive towards the new australians.
  • The Gallipoli Campaign

    The Gallipoli Campaign was a battle during WW1 to try and take over Gallipoli as it was a good base to fight off. The ANZAC soldiers landed early in the morning and there first objective was to capture ANZAC cove from the Turks. It was an amphibious landing and it did not go to the ANZACS plan. The ANZACS thought that it would be an easy win but they quickly realised that it was a harder battle than they thought.
  • The Assasination

    The Assasination of Franz Ferdinand was the main trigger of WW1. On the 28th of June 1915 Him and his wife were shot dead at Sarajevo. This was a trajic moment and it was the spark of WW1. Because of this Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia.
  • The Bounty Scheme

    The bounty scheme was introduced by goverment of NSW when there was gender imbalance. there was four men to every single ladie.
    The bounty scheme was made to bring more married couples to Australia.Under the scheme setellers paid the convicts money for there skills adn the convicts were like slaves.
  • A working mans pride

    • By 1888 Melbourne was the most populated city
    • Melbourne was the 2nd biggest city in the British Empire only falling second to London.
    • Workers paid by piece rate could only just live off the money
    • This led to more crimes being commited are the rate of poverty went through the roof.
    • Australia was considered a working man paradise
