In 1770, Captain James Cook was the first European to explore the eastern coastline of Australia. The reasson england came to australia was because prisons in england had no room so they needed a place to put them so they brought them down under and made the convics build the place we live today. In 1788 The prisons and jails in england were getting to full so they had to look for some place to take all the convicts. When the ship transporting many things sailed into Sydney Cove on 16 January 1793, she brought with her the first immigrant free settlers. these were all the people that had been in jail fom 1788 -
