    In the summer of 1944, many Jews were taken to ghettos in Budapest and were not able to do anything about it. Raoul soon opened an embassy near the ghettos and hired mainly Jews.

    In October of 1944, Adolf Eichmann tried to have Raoul assassinated, though Wallenberg wasn't even there. Later on Eichmann threatened Raoul again, and this time Raoul actually challenged Adolf. But, nothing ever happened.

    One of the biggest ways that Raoul helped thousands of Jews was by giving them 'certificates of protection' called Schutz-Passes. There are many pictures of actual passes that he has written.

    Raoul's death and death date is still unclear, and it will always remain a mystery. Wallenberg was last seen taken by Soviet forces in Moscow, Russia in 1945. It is said that he possibly passed away in 1947. Though the world will never know how, when, and exactly where.
