Academic Working Group Meeting
Dalia Abdelhady will hold an Academic Working Group meeting while she is in the UAE for research to speak about academic output over the next year. -
Community Development Working Group Meeting
Members of the Community Developement working group will meet to discuss the February Capacity Building Program in Lund. -
Participatory Leadership Introductory Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to introduce WSG stakeholders to the Capacity Building Program to launch in early February. We also hope to engage them in the planning of the program so we can address their expressed needs. -
Attendance of MESA 2011
The WSG Executive Team will be attending the annual meeting of scholars in the Middle East in Washington DC from December 1-4. There will be no official representation of WSG at this conference. -
World Future Energy Summit
WSG Participation in the World Future Energy Summit January 16-19 - currently being negotiated with Masdar Institute -
WSG Capacity Building Program
WSG will launch its first Capacity Building Program February 2-5 to be held in Lund. This is a pilot program for the "activist" section of the WSG community. We hope that this training will start several new projects that could be affiliated with WSG. -

AUS Gender Consortium Meeting
The American University in Sharjah will be holding a conference on gender where Dalia Abdelhady will participate on behalf of WSG. Dalia's presentation has not yet been decided upon but will focus on WSG research themes. -
Women as Global Leaders Conference
WSG will partner with Zayed University in its Women as Global Leaders Conference. WSG will be providing keynote speakers, two academic panels and a certificate program for attending students. For more information please email Jaleh. -
Insight Dubai Conference at DWC
Insight Dubai is a student focused conference hosted by Dubai Women's College. WSG hopes to send a few students from Sweden to attend this program as part of increasing cultural exchange between Sweden and the UAE. -
WSG Board Meeting
April 12-14 will be the first WSG Board meeting of 2012. The meeting will be held in Lund. -
WSG Training for Women Business Leaders
This is a training program created by WSG in partnership with Dubai Women's Eastablishment. The training will take place in Sweden for five days. Details of program are still to be developed. -
Gulf Research Meeting at Cambridge
Dalia Abdelhady in partnership with May Dabbagh from Dubai Shcool of Government will be hosting a workshop at this annual research meeting on "The Impact of Globalization on Women in the GCC". -
WSG Internal Review and Evaluation
During the summer the WSG Executive Team will be conducting an internal review of output and events over the last years. A report on findings will be presented at the WSG board meeting in November. -
WSG Conference in Lund
This will be a one day conference where new WSG stakeholders will be brought together to hear about and engage with WSG research and activites. Program details still to be planned and dates finalized. -
WSG Capacity Building Program
A WSG Capacity Builing Program will be held in the UAE. Dates to be finalized. -
WSG Board Meeting
The second WSG board meeting of 2012 will be held in the UAE in November. Final dates to be decided upon. -
Release of WSG Special Edition of JMEWS
The special edition of the the Journal of Middle Eastern Women's Students will be released in the Spring of 2013. This volume is edited by Dalia Abdelhady and focused on Women in the Gulf. -
Conference at Yale University
A conference in collaboration with Yale University on Gender in the Gulf. Dates to be confirmed.
