    Alliances are the best known cause of world war 1. The alliance system is what led countries to oppose one another. The alliance system divided euopean continents into 2 rival groups.

    They both visit Sarajevo in Bosnia and are shot during their ride. This event caused Austria to attack Serbia which was defended by Russia which led to Germany siding with Austria.

    The Zimmerman Telegram was a message sent to Mexico to join in on a war against the US in return Mexico would gain back "territory." This is one reason the US joined the Allies in World War 1.

    Hitler didn't rise to power overnight or with just one event but many events led him to be widely known for many different things. Hitler took up some political work in 1919 as an Army political agent, but I think the treaty of Versailles was the biggest event that led to Hitler's rise in Germany. In 1933 Hitler became Chancellor and was determined to make himself the ruler of Germany.
