    Hitler tries to avoid military service in Vienna. He left his home country so he wouldn't be involved in the war. He was then found and captured.

    Ferdinand and is wife is assassinated by a Serbian group. Serbian group was Black Hand. This was thought to be the spark of WW1.

    Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia. It is believed that because of the Archduke’s assassination, Austria declares war on Serbia. This becomes the first part of WW1.

    Germany sends the "secret" Zimmermann Telegram to Mexico to entice Mexico to join the war. Germany said that if Mexico joined the war and fought on their side, they would get Texas back from the U.S.. Mexico disagreed and was loyal to the U.S..
