    First Women's Rights convention
    The first Women's Rights convention was help in july of 1840 in Seneca Falls, New York. After 2 days or disscusion and debate, 68 women and 32 men signed Declaration of Sentiments. Which is a document that outlines the agenda for the womesn's rights movemnet.
  • National Women's Suffrage Association

    National Women's Suffrage Association
    In May,1869 Susan B. Anthony forms the National Women's Suffrage Assocation. The goal was to recieve voting rights for women by means of a Congressional amendment to the Constitution. On December 10th of 1869 the territiory of Wyoming passes the first women's sufferage law. The next year women begin serving on juries.

    National Association of Colored Women (NACW) was organized at a convention in Washington DC after the merger in 1896 of the National Federation of African American Women and theNational league of Colored Women.
  • Women's Suffrage Amendment

    Susan B. Anthony wrote the Federal women suffrage amendment which was written is 1878 is passed by the House of Representatives in 1919. In August of 1920 the 19th Amendment, which alows women to vote was signed into law by Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby.

    The African American Dolly Bardens of Philedelphia was the first paid women's baseball team on any level, 2 years before the first mens professional baseball club. At the first game the played between the blondes and brunettes.
  • Roe vs Wade

    Roe vs Wade
    Roe vs Wade reached the supreme court on appeal in 1970. Roe argued that a pregnant single women should be able to have an abortion in order to save the mothers life. Arguments were scheduled by the full court on Decmber 13th, 1971. After the first arguments all Justices agreed that the lawshould best dismissed for a lot of different reasons. The case was reargued October 11th, 1972. The court made its decison on January 22, 1973 with a 7 to 2 majority vote in favor of Roe.
  • Sandra Day O'Conner

    Sandra Day O'Conner
    She was the first Female Supreme Court Judge. She was sworn in September 25, 1981. After High school she attended Standford Univerisity where she majored in economics. She had a difficult time with the job Market after leaving Stnadford. No law firm in California wanted to hire her and only one offered her a position as a legal secretary. In 1981 the Senate decided unanimously that O'Conner should join them as a Supreme Court Judge.

    Although women have always been excelent skiiers and very capable of ski jumping, it wasnt now, The 2014 Winter Olympic Games, that the olympics allowed women to ski jump. Many attmempted to lobby for women to ski jump in previous olympics, however in all attempts their appeal was denied. This is a big landmark in women's rights and allowing them to be treated equal in all catagories.
