    Susan Anthony and Elizabeth Cady found the National Woman Suffrage Association
  • First birth control clinic

    Margaret Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the United States. This clinic was closed two times and in 1921 Sanger decided to found the American Birth Control League in 1921.
  • Congress members

    Jeannette Rankin was an activist for the National Suffrage Association and was sworn in as the first woman elected to congress as member of the House of Representatives.
  • 19th Amendment

    The U.S. Constitution declared the right to vote and it should not be denied for any account of sex. Meaning women could vote.
  • Women Pilot

    Amelia Earhart was the second pilot to fly solo nonstop across the Atlantic. So women were now getting more opportunities.
  • Prohibiting Discrimination

    The House of Resolution prohibits discrimination in pay on account of sex. Meaning that employers are required to pay women equal pay for equal work.
