WMU Yearbook Styles timeline.

The 1915 yearbook displays student names but is also the first yearbook to list the activities students were involved in. This yearbook included much more than the 1910 yearbook, such as student activities, high school students, and all faculty. Photo credit: The Siewert Studio of Photography

The 1920 yearbook list student's major and names of their instructors are next to their portrait. This is the only yearbook to list instructors. This yearbook has larger format images and has more text than previous years. Photo credit: The Siewert Studio of Photography

1925 was a year of many firsts for the yearbook, naming students’ hometowns, majors and portraying students in caps and gowns.

The 1940 yearbook compared to the 1910 yearbook shows how the student population has grown and how styles have changed. This yearbook tells where students are from and what their major was. This edition has thicker pages, which led to a thicker book.

The 1955 yearbook displays more text per page than images but includes if students were involved in Greek life, their major, degree type, where students were from, and what activities they were involved in. This yearbook displayed pictures of campus at night. Photo credit: WMU Archives

The 1960 yearbook displays student's name and where they are from but leaves out what activities students were involved in. This yearbook is still black and white, but includes a lot of blue as well.
